I hate when adverstising works on me. I was flipping through a Real Simple magazine and saw an advertisment for Metromint–Mint flavored water. That’s stupid I thought immediately remembering as a kid trying to flavor water with my toothpaste (no, I don’t remember why) not liking the way it tasted and wondering what made me think that was a such a bright idea in the first place. Isn’t this just about the same thing? But then I go to The Fresh Market for the first time on Monday and wanting to participate in the Fresh Market experience but not willing to pay $9.99 for a lb of chicken curry salad I opt instead for a Metromint. It was sitting there all nice and cool looking and colorful in the refrigerated section next to the overpriced (but delicious looking nonetheless) cupcakes when I grabbed one. Still not able to shake the toothpaste water experience, I go for the Orange mint- Ingrediants: water, mint, orange essence-I can work with that. I can’t say that I LOVE it, as I am not so much a minty person (Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream is from the devil) but it is surprisingly very refreshing. And it is like “Ahh” in a bottle I sipped on it throughout the day trying to figure out if I like it or not. It’s growing on me. I’m not going to run right out and buy the 24 case (um $38 online) but I would buy it again. Next bottle…Peppermint water which has the highest Chill Factor rating at a -9 degrees(?). The Orangemint was at -3, which means after drinking the Peppermint water I should be breathing icicles for at least the entire day. Give it a try and let me know what you think. In the meantime, I think I’m going to revisit that toothpaste flavored water idea.
